Developing the next generation of cyber talent
HOST has been appointed as the lead North West delivery partner for CyberFirst Schools and Colleges programme, run by GCHQ’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), to champion cyber education in the region’s North West Cyber Corridor.
With a fantastic network of industry employers and ambassadors, HOST will enable more young people to access opportunities, such as mentoring and work experience, outside the classroom and in the growing technology sector.
Why become a CyberFirst school or college?
We want more schools and colleges across the UK to join a community of local cyber education champions.
Institutions achieve Gold, Silver or Bronze status through the CyberFirst Schools and Colleges initiative for giving young people opportunities to develop skills and demonstrating excellent cyber security teaching in the classroom and beyond.
Gain trust from prospective parents
Along with contributing towards the OFSTED framework and GATSBY benchmarks, you will gain official recognition from the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) which helps to promote your school or college in an ever-competitive market.
As a certified institute, you will also gain access to the CyberFirst portal where you can find free resources to help bring cyber into your lessons.
Access the tech industry
As an NCSC certified school or college, you'll gain access to over 130 CyberFirst partner organisations and be part of the CISSE UK cyber education community.
You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with HOST's network of industry employers and ambassadors, and establish yourself amongst the secondary and FE education sector.
Create a better student experience
Finally, the most important benefit is that you are giving your students the best opportunities for a career in tech by enhancing other core STEM subjects in your institute.
Through Skills City Spark, HOST run day-long events where your students can take part in inter-CyberFirst school competitions and activities to give them a taste of the tech world.
